Album Review: Retrovizor by Fran Vasilić

Fran Vasilić is a Croatian singer, songwriter, and producer. I found him through either Instagram or Tiktok when he was promoting his song Hypotheticals (which I recommend you listen to).

Anyway, I am here to review his first album, Retrovizor, which was released in August 2020.

The word “Retrovizor” means “Rear-view mirror” in Croatian. The first song on the album is called “Welcome to the Rearview” which I think is a perfect way to start off the album, since the word “Retrovizor” means “rearview mirror.” Throughout the album, you will find multiple car references that give a visual of what he actually means.

I really like the album cover. You could kind of tell what kind of songs will be in the album by the title and cover of the album. A lot of his songs are about losing someone close to you, and there are a couple that use a car for reference (and I think that’s cool). In my opinion, Fran Vasilic is a great artist. A lot of his songs seem to be relatable and there's a lot of emotion put into his music, which I like about him.

This album was also an inspiration for me for take pictures. I went out with my friend, Kevin, and got some pretty cool pictures of him that reminded me of this album.
